MiniReddit: A Clean and Simple Extension for Reddit
MiniReddit is a 3rd party extension for Chrome that aims to provide a clean and simple layout for Reddit. Developed by smithjor2, this extension trims down the clutter and focuses on the essential features of the popular social media platform.
When you visit Reddit with MiniReddit installed, the extension will reorganize the page to bring the content front and center, while removing many of the minor features of the site. This allows you to browse Reddit without the need to open multiple tabs to view images, videos, or stories. MiniReddit brings all the content into one page, providing you with the standard upvote/downvote buttons and getting everything else out of the way.
One of the key features of MiniReddit is the content box grid on your homepage. Each link is given a content box that is aligned in a grid format. The focus of each content box is on the link title and the content of the link, whether it be an image, video, text, or other media. MiniReddit also tries to find the main content of each story for full-size, in-page viewing. If images or videos are not available, the extension will search for text in the main body of the post. If that cannot be found, the top three main-level comments will be loaded, ensuring that you always get the information you're most interested in without having to leave the page.
As a work in progress, MiniReddit welcomes any suggestions or bug reports from users. If you have any feedback, simply leave a note in the comments section. MiniReddit is a free extension and is available for Chrome users who want a clean and simplified browsing experience on Reddit.
